Migration Process and Expected Timeline
Catalog Migration Process
The following outlines the process for migrating and redistributing a catalog through Calientalo Media:
Importing Catalog into Calientalo Media
- Catalog ingestion into Calientalo Media must be complete and valid. Potential issues include:
- Incomplete publishing metadata.
- Older asset files not meeting current DSP requirements (e.g., artwork must be at least 1400×1400, but 3000×3000 is highly recommended).
- Missing Spotify and Apple Artist IDs (crucial for successful track-linking)
- Lack of communication regarding:
- Territorial restrictions.
- DSP restrictions.
- Non-default pricing for download DSPs.
Catalog Distribution and Monitoring
- Calientalo Media distributes the catalog in batches to stores.
- Calientalo Media monitors the delivery process but does not perform QA once assets are live (this is the client’s responsibility).
- Calientalo Media notifies the customer when it is safe to issue takedowns from their previous distributor(s).
- The client issues takedowns from their previous distributor(s).
- Note: Calientalo Media does not monitor the status of takedowns; this is the client’s responsibility.
---
Expected Timelines
- Redistributing using Calientalo Media’s DSP deals depends on the size of the catalog.
- Always allow a minimum of 7 days to ensure track linking after delivery.
